We are a community-based volunteer group that provides financial support, information and encouragement to cancer patients. Persons living in the area between Upper Kent and down to the border of Nackawic, who have been diagnosed with cancer, are eligible to apply.

This group was formed in 2007 and to date we have provided financial support to 752 people during their illness. The organization has grown thanks to the support of local people that are providing us with contributions.

The River Valley Cancer Support Group Inc. collaborates with cancer survivors, River Valley health personnel and supporting hospitals throughout New Brunswick. Working together allows us to provide the support, attention and care that is so greatly needed.

This group relies on donations to have the finances to assist cancer patients. This is strictly a volunteer group and all monies go out to those needing help. River Valley Cancer Support Group Inc. is now a registered charity so receipts for donations can be claimed on your Income Tax.

We rely on members of the community who have so very kindly helped by holding fund-raising events, memorials, and given personal donations. We also publish a Cancer Survivor Calendar each year and encourage everyone to purchase a copy. We can only supply support to cancer patients thanks to the generous support from these kind people.

We would be more than happy to enlarge our group, so if you feel that you want to help us help others, we hold our regular monthly meetings on the last Monday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Upper River Valley Hospital. We would love to see you there…

Murray's Irving Driver Appreciation Charity Golf Tournament in memory of Susan Stockford chose the River Valley Cancer Support Group Inc as their charity this year. The money raised will go to support children and/or their family members that are dealing with cancer. A huge thank you to all of driver's, companies and the organizers of this year's event. Your contribution will certainly help those in the community during a difficult time. The total raised was $18,118.75. Wow!
